Charlie Thunderfoot Bio
|
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about me and my band. I was born in WV a few moons ago. I started my life long career at the very early age of 5. Did I know I would live my life as a musician/artist? No. I just knew it made me feel really good to entertain people. Of course at that stage in the game my audience was limited to a few biased fans.
As my talent grew so did the fans, the places I traveled and the many faces I met. Thunderfoot was the name my Cherokee grandmother gave to me. She said that this name held special meaning to her ancestry. At the time she told me this I had many things I was excited about in life and it wasn't a Nick Name. Or so I thought. Out of respect I held it close and pondered this through the next 20 years.
Now there is much to be said about my name, Thunderfoot but I will digress at this juncture. For the first 20 years I had a band named Hard to Get. We traveled extensively through the Continental US, Canada, BC and even did a few DOD tours. After taking some time off to reflect and pay homage to my parents and time to reflect further on Thunderfoot, I have decided to call my band Thunderfoot and hopefully pay some respect to my ancestry and my elders. Without them I would not be here.
I have just completed My CD called Highway and is available on iTunes/Amazon and many online stores and at our shows. I believe Thunderfoot is a cut above what you usually get for a road band. Thunderfoot is comprised of three to five Members consisting of drums, lead guitar, bass guitar, keys [Utility Person] and a female vocalist. Sometimes we are only a four piece band due to the finances but whenever possible we do love to have him along with us. You will not find more respectfully fun people to have in your establishment. I am very proud of the lineup in Thunderfoot at this present time and we are family in a sense.
I feel when we go into a venue for the first time it is a chance for a long and lasting friendship and our mission is to work for the establishment and to cater to the clientele. After all this is the reason we're there. It's about making money for the venue and the band. I once had a lady tell me I could not play any request even if a patron wanted to hear it. I reluctantly said well, OK. Sure enough that night we had a lady come up and wanted to hear an older slow classic rock song and was willing to tips us a 20. You see this was her and her husbands' song from when they dated. At the break I asked the manager of this club and was told no very snidely. It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do to a fan. So did that look good for us or the club? It hurt but it was what the club manager said. We passed on the next gig there.
Thank you for reading about me, the band and our experiences. If you want a real band with heart and respect and oceans of talent for your venue please contact us or our agent. I am sure you will be glad you did. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Charlie Thunderfoot
